Our Story

From Clay to Community

A journey of passion, tradition, and the timeless art of ceramics — rooted in Indonesia, made for the world.

How It Began

Born from a love of clay and culture

Cerita Ceramic was founded in 2020 by a group of Indonesian artisans who shared a single belief: that every ceramic piece has a story to tell. Frustrated by the disappearance of traditional pottery techniques and the lack of platforms supporting local craftspeople, they set out to build something different — a ceramic studio that honours heritage while embracing contemporary design.

The name 'Cerita' — meaning 'story' in Indonesian — reflects our core philosophy. We don't just make pottery; we preserve living traditions, support artisan livelihoods, and create objects that carry meaning into everyday life.

Our Philosophy

Craft with purpose

We believe that handcrafted objects carry a warmth and intentionality that mass-produced goods cannot replicate. Each irregular curve, each subtle glaze variation, each fingerprint left in clay is a mark of human presence. We celebrate these imperfections — they are not flaws, they are the story.

"Every piece of clay holds the memory of the hands that shaped it." — Siti Nurhaliza, Founder
